Right to Dream Vs Berry Ladies FC: While it’s important not to take too much in the way of definitive conclusions from a mid-season friendly, Coach Freeman Amponsah admitted his Berry Ladies FC side made little mistakes in their 2-1 loss to Right to Dream mixed up with both male and female players yesterday.
Clearly, the team are just getting back into the swing of things but the fact that there is under 2 days to go until the Malta Guinness Women Premier League starts back up again means improvements are both urgent and necessary.
All players of Berry Ladies FC were given 45 minutes or less against Right to Dream team just to warm them up before the next match against Army Ladies FC at EL Wak Stadium on 3:00pm. The Invitation by Right to Dream to Berry Ladies Fc was to give their girls and boys a chance to experience playing outside their usual settings and try out women’s football.

Right to Dream and Berry Ladies Fc were not focused on winning the game but rather on helping Right to Dream girls and boys enhance their abilities, correct errors, communicate well on the pitch, collaborate as a team and many more. They believe in promoting women’s and girls’ football and providing them with the same opportunities as boys and men. With Berry Ladies Football Club being one of the best Women Football Clubs in Ghana and their players learning from our professional players, they hope to set an example and create a bright future for women’s football as they interacted with some of our players after the match.

Over the last twenty years, Right to Dream has grown into one of the continent’s leading football academies. There are currently 95 boys and girls from across West Africa on full scholarship at the Academy. Their talent development model is comprised of three core areas – football, education and character – and their students have the opportunity to access two main graduate pathways: professional football or student-athlete scholarships to the US and UK. Over the last decade, they have produced over 30 professional footballers, including Ghana Internationals David Accam, Mohammed Kudus, Abdul Majeed Waris etc.
